New Mobile Game - Silent Hill Mobile 2
Well, it’s just about the worst title ever, but as I’m a huge fan of Silent Hill I couldn’t resist getting this game today on my mobile. I’ve no idea why, as most mobile games are quite disappointing, but there I was, clicking away to purchase it. Amazingly, I wasn’t upset and wanting to throw my phone away in a rage when I finally did get to play it.
I think it’s the pared down nature of the game that suits Silent Hill perfectly - but so far it seems to have a rather weird blend of storylines, odd puzzles and (unfortunately) action. What I do like though is the simple visuals. The clues, cues and references that demonstrate that you’re in the world of Silent Hill have been ported over perfectly to this handheld version and I’m actually quite looking forward to moving further into this horror adventure. Still, can the “Fear of blood creates fear for the flesh” atmosphere be evoked when you’re on the bus home?
Whereever you’re playing, there’s something deeply disturbing about a burnt corpse holding a note that says “Draw me the way down to hell”. I’m shuddering right now, but it might just be the fact that it’s about 0.5 degrees outside…
